I love this song; it is very retro & I love the gospel influences. I think this song is about a woman who is asking God to forgive her for hurting a man badly. Ex: "Leaving fragments of a man so broken," "Lord have mercy on my soul," and "For I have walked a sinful road." There are other lines of course.
I think it could be a woman who cheated on a man or played games with him just for her own pleasure.
