Termination Lyrics
Flying through skies, voices keep calling,
Bidding me welcome. White maiden lands,
Luring me closer, forbidden land.
And as I scanned in closer,
Those painted steps beyond.
Released from mortal patterns,
My mind out goes beyond.
Spinning in circles,
Miracles happen,
As Lorelei shores, lead me to my doom,
Fear has been stricken,
The end will come soon.
This is termination,
The outcome of your life.
Bidding me welcome. White maiden lands,
Luring me closer, forbidden land.
Those painted steps beyond.
My mind out goes beyond.
Miracles happen,
As Lorelei shores, lead me to my doom,
Fear has been stricken,
The end will come soon.
The outcome of your life.

OK, here's my go at the lyrics:
Termination
Flying through the skies, voices keep calling, Bidding me welcome. White maiden lands, Hurried me closer, forbidden land.
And as I scanned in closer, Those [??? step?] beyond.
Released from mortal patterns, My mind out goes beyond.
Spinning in circles, Miracles happen, As Lorelei shores, lead (me?) to my doom, Fear has been stricken, The end will come soon.
This is termination, The outcome of your life.
The critical change is the line "As Lorelei shores, lead (me?) to my doom". This may be a long shot but have a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorelei and see if you can find a connection. Open to feedback.
This is a difficult song to hear the lyrics clearly, and I don't think that the lyrics kindly submitted by Metallic slayer are actually correct. I'll submit my version shortly for scrutiny. It's also curious that the pronunciation Iron Butterfly used is more like 'terminition' than 'termination'. Don't know what was going on there. For me, it's a fascinating account of approaching death and a release beyond, ending with a short ambient passage that was truly ahead of its time.
Musically it is a splicing together of some seemingly unrelated sections, but the mystery of the text strangely pulls it together.
wow. now that i look at them i have no idea what i was on when i submitted these. i have the album with the booklet so ill put the right ones up later
I love the drums in this song.
Obviously about death, or at least mortality.
The last line; "This is termination. The outcome of your life." is quite a depressing view on what life becomes for everyone from all walks of life and of all achievements.
