Indeed! I think the singer wants to continue/have a relationship (maybe they were friends before?). But the girl makes him doubt, they might have arguments. He tries to convince her of his good intentions, but she's apperently not that into him. He's very sad and begins to generalize: his relationships never work: isn't it always so?
