In this world today, no one ever seems to care
Whatever's going on, so much indifference out there
All this apathy it leaves me quite appalled
I thought I'd write a song to try and make sense of it all
But I really couldn't be bothered
I put the telly on instead

Gave up and went back to bed

To explain what it's about
And I know that it's important
I just can't seem to get my finger out
Whatever can it be that causes all this lethargy
Why can't people take an interest in society
I thought about this problem then I realised by and by
If they can't take an interest then why the bloody hell should I

My mind was totally blank
So I made myself a cup of tea
Read the paper, had a walk in the park
I really couldn't be bothered
Though the task was fairly clear
And I really meant to do it
I just can't get my arse into gear
