Senseless Tragedy Lyrics

Look in to my eyes and see my pain
Now that I lost what I thought I gained
Sourness and fear is all I taste
Now I understand what I had to waste
My love
Look into the fires you left behind
Smoking ashes sear my mind
Im concerned and in denial
Clip my wings put me on trial
My love

Now theres only me
God has made me weak
Now theres only me
Gone is apathy

Look in to my eyes and see my pain
Now that I lost what I thought I gained
Sourness and fear is all I taste
Now I understand what I had to waste
My love

Now theres only me
God has made me weak
Now theres only me
Gone is apathy

Historys in the mind of the teller
The truth is in the tale
Historys in the mind of the teller
The truth is in the tale
In the tale
The truth is in the tale
The truth is in the tale

The song is about a friend of Shaun's who died in a car wreck. She burnt to death in the car. "Look into the fires you left behind", "Smoking ashes sear my mind". Sad song.

I see this as being about a relationship. Now that he is alone (Now that I lost what I thought I had gained) he is full of hate and anger toward the other person (Sourness and fear is all I taste). Looking back he can see that he wasted his love and feelings on this person (regrets ever being in the relationship probably) -> He goes into more detail about the anger and how he was left without closure (Look into the fires you left behind. Smoking ashes sear my mind)

My Interpretation

Yeah this song is from their Saron Gas days, which were from South Africa. I bought the cd about five years ago, and it's very expensive (because there aren't many copies and not many people are selling it online), but it's worth every penny.

As far as this song in particular goes, I feel like madmike098 hit it on the nail.
