i fucking love this song. shows how corporate touring has come and how every band has to put up with so much shit just get on a certain tour these days.

what does that excatly mean?
it sounds like the music industry speaking to the "kids", the "kids" being members of bands such as GAD. the "golden rules" of the business is to look out for yourself at other's expenses. only do favors for people if they will do you a favor in return. "use who you can on your way to the middle" meaning step on other's shoulders while working your way to the top, even though you will only make it to the middle. "you get burned if you turn the other cheek" - if you dont play by these rules, your band will get "burned" meaning you wont be successful
GAD is obvious proof that you dont have to play by these "rules"...hell, they gave up signing to a major label because the label told them that they have to write choruses in their songs. rather than conform and give up their musical integrity, they gave a big "fuck you" to the label and stayed with fearless
