Misery Loves Its Company Lyrics
Listen close as we wait for a sound to go
It's true, we are
we are destined to fail [x2]
And there's a problem here with our society
The absence of my tears is my sobriety
I have a growing fear and you're only helping me
Am I the only one who realizes it's true?
Beat but I'm not broken
Got me through way around
Leave with your words spoken
Show me how to listen
You're persecuting me, showing hypocrisy
I have a remedy for your insecurity
It's all the same, sadly
Nobody works for free
Am I the only one who realizes it's true
Beat but I'm not broken
Got me through way around
leave with your words spoken
Show me how to listen
Let your light shine through me
Take this hate I can release
Help me make the blood see
Misery loves its company
When I dream, I see dawn turn into dusk, into dusk
Beat but I'm not broken
Got me through way around
Leave with your words spoken
Show me how to listen
Let your light shine through me
Take this hate I can release
Help me make the blood see
Misery loves its company
It's true, we are
we are destined to fail [x2]
we are destined to fail [x2]
The absence of my tears is my sobriety
I have a growing fear and you're only helping me
Am I the only one who realizes it's true?
Got me through way around
Leave with your words spoken
Show me how to listen
I have a remedy for your insecurity
It's all the same, sadly
Nobody works for free
Am I the only one who realizes it's true
Got me through way around
leave with your words spoken
Show me how to listen
Take this hate I can release
Help me make the blood see
Misery loves its company
Got me through way around
Leave with your words spoken
Show me how to listen
Take this hate I can release
Help me make the blood see
Misery loves its company
we are destined to fail [x2]

as far as I can tell, this band has a lot of Christian tendencies in their songs. I may be wrong but this is what I gather from their lyrics.
This song i think is talking about people who put others down for believing in God
The first two lines 'It's true, we are we are destined to fail' i think is saying that all men are sinners and that no one is perfect. the second verse is saying that society is blind and he's asking if he's the only one that can see that God is the right path to be taking in your life. The third paragraph is saying that he's been judged for his beliefs and he's taken a lot from people, (I agree with craigtom86, i think the line is "guide me through with your arm") and that God has guided him and shown him the right path. the next verse is directed toward non believers. the line 'Let your light shine through me' is asking God to let others see God and his wonders through him.'take this hate i can release' is just asking God to take away his hate and animosity towards others/past experiences away.
To me this song SCREAMS Christian lyrics... I could be wrong but thats what I got out of it. Love the song. any one agree/disagree???
I agree with you completely. It screams Christianity to me. And I think that 'misery loves its company' just goes to say that its a vicious cycle of all the hate and it just keeps gaining more and more bad things. Thats when i think he asks God for his help. Like people will always be accompanied by misery.

we have been forgiven of our sins through accepting the gift of grace through Christ :) remember? so just because we might sin doesn't mean we are sinners. and thanks to you I can understand this song and strengthen my relationship with God. 'cause yeah, I agree it screams Christianity esp. 'cause of the "let your light shine through me" part. I always had a hard time figuring out this song on my own. thank you so much! :) :D

you're only helping me that line is wrong. Its you're not helping me, as far as I know. I have all the lyrics for this cd, and thats what it says on every other song lyric site I've checked out
Got me through way around Is wrong also, I believe its 'guide me through with your arm' like craigtom86 mentioned
Help me make the blood see uh... help me make the BLIND see...
I think its " Guide me through with your Arm"
I don't know how much this matters, but on Ronnie Winter's myspace profile(yes, he has one) it says that he's a Christian where you would put your religion, so it's very well possible that he could have had some Christian influences in his lyrics, assuming he's the lyricist.
Yeah, every single band member is a Christian. There are a lot of bands that are Christians but not exactly Christian writters. Being a Christian myself, i do believe that this song is most deffinatly a song written about God, although it does not directly say God in it. Many verses in the Bible do say "Guide me through with your arm" and also something along the lines of helping me make the blind see. I think that the narrorator is having a personal struggle maybe with witnessing to ignrant non believers who put him down for his beliefs.
The intro is wrong, its: "Listen close, as the rain falls down to the ground"
This song simply sums up the fact that mankind will be the cause of its own destruction. This has been a though for a long time, but the singer begs "Am I the only one who realizes its true"
I am an atheist and as much as I try to deny the significant Biblical influence in the song, I cannot. It is obvious that the composer believes in God. However, I think that if you deconstruct this song and remove the Biblical implications... you have a truly strong meaning that can be appreciated by people of all beliefs.
I can't believe no one's commented on this one either. It's an amazing song. The lyrics are self explanitory.
These lyrics arn't completely right.
OMG, I can't believe nobody also commented on this too. Well, it is an awesome song.
I'm still not totally sure what this song is about. Someone explain?
