Carlessness Lyrics
Carelessness
Something I've read about
In a magazine, in a journal of
Medicine for fever and rapid heart
For the younger set giving life a start
All the pain in dissent
All the freedom to climb
A thousand wishes I've missed
For hanging on to this
When a moment brings hope for everything
Every time I walk away from this
Will the one who came to throw it all away
Ever get to see the end of this?
Carelessness is something I recognize
When you're fast asleep and I'm in the right
Taking in everything you ignore
My abrasiveness and your angelcore
More minutes of life put away set aside
Ever following things that I won't find
Won't you climb high
And shower some correction on me
Don't dare disguise
Your colorful predictions are clear
Something I've read about
In a magazine, in a journal of
Medicine for fever and rapid heart
For the younger set giving life a start
All the freedom to climb
A thousand wishes I've missed
For hanging on to this
Every time I walk away from this
Will the one who came to throw it all away
Ever get to see the end of this?
When you're fast asleep and I'm in the right
Taking in everything you ignore
My abrasiveness and your angelcore
Ever following things that I won't find
And shower some correction on me
Don't dare disguise
Your colorful predictions are clear

i love this band. lyrics, instruments, all beautiful. but their lyrics are the biggest enigma. i really don't understand them at all. I wish someone would comment and elucidate...
I'm not sure exactly what this means, but there's this one part that stands out to me:
"Will the one who came to throw it all away Ever get to see the end of this?"
I think that links to Christ, somehow? You know, how he came and died for our sins, but will he ever really be able to see the end of them. The song has something to do with how people today are careless about the way that they live. I'm probably wrong, though.
i'm glad someone finally replied i agree completely. that was the line that stuck out to me, also, and i do think it has to do with christ. the idea that it's about how carelessly people live today rings true too. thanks
This song is a prayer or a petition to God to keep him from temptation. "Every time I walk away from this (sin)." "Medicine for fever and rapid heart" He is asking God to keep him away from lust. The line starting with "will the one who came...", pondering whether Jesus will ever see him free of temptation before they meet face to face.
do i ever love this song and i just recently found out what it was called. I agree w/ entreleslignes that the lyrics are a bit enigmatic and thnx to warriorangel for explaining them.
i just found fair a few weeks ago and fell in love with them. i must agree with entreleslignes that the lyrics are a bit enigmatic-- ok look at this section here
All the pain in dissent All the freedom to climb A thousand wishes I've missed For hanging on to this
obviously this is a Christian band, and with that in mind here’s what I got. "all the freedom to climb" is saying that God allows us to make our own decisions. the next section, this is part of a problem I think we all face. for most humans we want to control things ourselves. but the fact of the matter is that we need to give it all up to god. so when he says “a thousand wishes Ive missed, for hanging onto this“, i think that’s what he’s referring to. that hes been trying to control everything but the opportunities that God had in store for him passed him by because he didn’t want to listen -- idk im probably off. any other suggestions?
GOD I love love love this song! The lines that stand out to me most are:
"Taking in everything you ignore My abrasiveness... And your angel core."
I love those lines because to me, the song is about some girl or boy you love so much, but they aren't interested in you or they don't love you anymore no matter how hard you try (abrasiveness), but even though they don't treat you very well or ignore you, you can't move on because all you see is their "angel core", their loveliness.
