this song is amazing, hands down, amazing. its kind of hard to figure out though....
i got the vibe that one person was obviously holding the relationship together, and supporting the other person...but the person doing the supporting couldnt do it anymore, and maybe they wanted different things? blah. someone help me out here.

this part makes me think... drug problem? maybe the person doing the drugs has been leading this other person on. and that the person being led on is worried about this drug problem but doesnt want to say anything because all the want to do is make them happy and be with them.
they figure out that no one is perfect. and that they will wait forever to be with this person...

i agree with musiccxxx that this is about some form of drug abuse. the whole "pretending to play god" probably either means that they realize they're killing themselves (aka doing god's job, in a way) or they think they're going to live through this but everyone else thinks they're going to die, so they aren't really playing god it just looks like it (from their point of view) i dunno that's just what i got from those lines. and "it's a one time thing, i promise. besides, i can quit when i want" typical words from someone who abuses drugs and doesn't realize that they will get addicted and continue to abuse them. it's a sad song, to me at least. and this is so weird, but as i wrote this i looked up at the clock and realized it was 11:12 :| freaky coincidence.
