OUT IN THE NIGHT
IT COULD BE FUN
IT COULD BE FUN
IT COULD BE FUN
NO WORDS TO EXPLAIN
NO WORDS IN MY MOUTH
NO WORDS IN MY MIND
BUT THE GESTURE SAID IT ALL
AND THE WORDS REFINED IT ALL

I SAW HOW YOU LOOKED AT ME
I SAW HOW YOU DANCED WITH HER
I SAW HOW YOU LOOKED AT ME
I SAW HOW YOU DANCED WITH HER
I SAW IT BEFORE
I SAW IT BEFORE
RIGHT NOW, I GUESS YOU MOVE

I SAW IT BEFORE
I SAW IT BEFORE THAT TIME
BUT THE GESTURE SAID IT ALL
AND THE WORDS REFINED IT ALL

I SAW HOW YOU LOOKED AT ME
I SAW HOW YOU DANCED WITH HER
I SAW HOW YOU LOOKED AT ME
I SAW HOW YOU DANCED WITH HER
I SAW IT BEFORE
I SAW IT BEFORE
RIGHT NOW, I GUESS YOU MOVE

I SAW IT BEFORE

My Interpretationokay I really wanna know if this is the right interpretation...
I think this song is about either a gay guy in love with a straight dude (well embivalent)or a straight guy in love with a lesbian chick - only got this feeling from the chorus though.
the guy is going out knowing that he'll see the person that he likes but he realises that the person in question isn't brave enough or isn't ready to admit he's sexual preferences.
Or maybe he thought that the person he liked was straight (or gay depending on if it's a girl or a boy ) and from the way that person dances with he's partner and looks at him he sees that he actually has a chance... am I totally wrong???
anyways I love this song it's a complete masterpiece.

General CommentI think that it's just two girls dancing together and one of them is looking at him.
No homosexual overtones at all unless you put them their yourself.

    But agreed, amazing song.
The first two albums are classics... shame recent efforts have been so formulaic goth.
