Love Sneakin' Up On You Lyrics
Rainy night I'm all alone
Sitting here waiting for your voice on the phone
Fever turns to cold cold sweat
Thinking about things we ain't done yet
Tell me now
I've gotta know, do you feel the same
Do you just light up at the mention of my name
Don't worry baby
Ain't nothin' new
That's just love sneakin' up on you
If your whole world is shakin'
And you feel like I do
That's just love sneakin' up on you
Nowhere on earth for your heart to hide
Once love comes sneaking up on your blind side
And you might as well try and stop the rain
Or stand in the track of a runaway train
You just can't fight it when a thing is meant to be
Come on let's finish what you started with me
Don't worry baby
Ain't nothin' new
That's just love sneakin' up on you
If your whole world is shakin'
And you feel like I do
That's just love sneakin' up on you
Sitting here waiting for your voice on the phone
Fever turns to cold cold sweat
Thinking about things we ain't done yet
Tell me now
I've gotta know, do you feel the same
Do you just light up at the mention of my name
Ain't nothin' new
That's just love sneakin' up on you
If your whole world is shakin'
And you feel like I do
That's just love sneakin' up on you
Once love comes sneaking up on your blind side
And you might as well try and stop the rain
Or stand in the track of a runaway train
You just can't fight it when a thing is meant to be
Come on let's finish what you started with me
Ain't nothin' new
That's just love sneakin' up on you
If your whole world is shakin'
And you feel like I do
That's just love sneakin' up on you

Written by Bonnie Raitt, this was released by Sting and Joss Stone on the album American Made World Played, 2005, a tribute to guitarist, Les Paul. I don't know. I'm probably possessed by perspectral demons, but if we want to perpetuate the old Aristotle hogwash of men chasing down babes young enough to be their daughters due to fear of their female peers, I wonder why Nature doesn't arrange for the rest of the "old junk" women to die at 30 and be done with it. And I realize this is a radical position but it is. Is he sitting there waiting for her voice on the phone, feverish and sweaty? Does she light up at the mention of his name? Is she just itching to finish what he started with her? Lyrics don't have to be taken literally but lord, I wish this patriarchal nonsense that continues to pester us all with a love of war and violence would retire ....

Everything turns into writing Someone is having a birthday And someone is getting married And someone is telling a joke My dream
I dream of the code of the west But this rough magic required some heavenly music Which even now—I do This airy charm … Bury it several fathoms in the earth And deeper than did ever plummet sound I’ll bury my book
It is 5:15am Dear Baby, hello
