More Than Melody

This song sounds like a one night stand with someone you had liked for a long time. She sounds confused about if she truely loves him "he's more than melody to me...I think"

I absolutely love the line "All the world will love us and whore us" A brilliant line by a brilliant artist!

This song is probably about her having slept with a guy that she doesnt know if she truly cared about or not. Such a great song. Can't find the CD though =(

Simply, a one-night stand. Anna says most of her boyfriends do something stupid and there's a song about them. She's saying she want's someone who's more than a song to her, that she doesn't just want another guy to write a song about. Absolutely amazing girl.

I love her style in these newly released songs. So raw.

It's likely a one-night stand, but it could be a relationship that she's unsure of too. At the end she seems to conclude that he's "more than melody" to her.

This to me seems like a relationship that seems as if it wasn't ready to occur yet.

I'll break the song down to show you what I mean.

(I think that in this part, Anna is singing to cupid, telling him that she's already tried to fill her life with her favorite thing signing, but she still feels empty and needs someone. She jumps quickly into the relationship with a man who's just gotten over an awful breakup, so he's not ready to be with her quite yet, because he is afraid to give her his heart.)

(This is where Anna tells the man that he should take a chance with her because she's not going to give up on him yet. The song isn't enough to show her feelings, because she thinks she is crazily in love with him, but she only can be if he's open to her.)

So morning comes and I'm nervously cold In these sheets not my own and these hands where they don't belong And I'm all but a victim to my prison head I should run for my gun but I'm lying instead in your hands In your hands in your hands in your hands

(This is where Anna gets scared, because the man finally gives into her wishes. I think she feels that he isn't all the way into her still, or she herself might not be ready yet, but either way, she's fighting something inside of her head, but she has lost, because still, she finds herself with him, depending on him.)

(This is where she makes the point that everyone is very innocent, and very vulnerable. She says that her vulnerability now lies in control of the man.)

(This I think is where Anna has finally thought about the situation enough, and she is content where she is, but she is tired of thinking, and she's done with it. She realizes that he is in fact the right guy for her.)
