Quiet, Please! Lyrics
quiet, please!
we'll soon begin
whisper if you need
to tell a friend a joke
quiet, please!
and listen up
feel free to grab the hand
of the person on your right
quiet, please!
save your applause
ushers shut your doors
as the curtain drops
did you read my mind?
did you miss your cue?
her knees are fallin' down
her fingers point to you
and flashin' words
like crashin' cars
you can't go home tonight
you can't go home tonight
the park is big
the reverend said
you'll find yourself when you lose
the stones you've been fed
quiet, please!
did you read my mind?
did you miss your cue?
her knees are fallin' down
her finger points to you
the park is big
the reverend said
you'll find yourself when you lose
the stones you've been fed
quiet, please!
we'll soon begin
whisper if you need
to tell a friend a joke
and listen up
feel free to grab the hand

as the curtain drops

QUIET PLEASE!!
QUIET PLEASE!!
you'll find yourself when you lose the stones you've been fed
this about not listening to what everyone has drilled into your head and about thinking your own thoughts and forming your own opinions.
pretty cool song.
I get the image of being in church. "...Knees are falling down" as in getting ready to pray. There's also a reference to an usher and reverend. So going along with mallory, forget those stones you've been fed and find yourself is what I think the song is saying.
i also though of church "feel free to grab the hand of the person on your right"
The way I hear it, it's like he went to church one day and went making the song in his mind along with the cult. I'm not a religious person at all but I find this a pretty fun song. Guess that shows how much of a good writing it is. What the reverend said was quite wise, too.
