king of the diamond; king of the grave. lawlessness stains black
on whitewashed tombs.

This is my take on the song

"welcome to the war; a martyr's challenge": Chaos and death are the nonbelievers challenge.

"chainsaw brutality tornado strength." Lives are ripped apart and we are pushed around

"king of the diamond; king of the grave" People put so much value in worldly possessions, and ultimately it leads to death (sin)

"lawlessness stains black on whitewashed tombs." When people don't have any kind of moral value, or sense of right and wrong, it leads to their death (sin)

"we're too strong to compromise." But God has made us to strong to agree with the ways of the world.

"don't be ashamed of your faith. " Dont view you faith as weakness, because it makes you strong.

"dear Lord- deliver me from" Jesus Save me!

"hypocrisy and surcease the scarlet desire" Save me from lies, and death, and sinful desires.

"he wears a slick jacket and gold watch." Men put so much value in worldly possessions (the temptations of fame and glam)

"her dishonesty has scarred hands." Her sin was paid for by the holes in Jesus's hands

I think he is comparing materialism to Satan.

Well, I could be wrong, but it could be about Bush and the War in Iraq. Here's my support.

"Welcome to the war" Self explanitory.

"A martyrs challenge" Since many people see Bush's war as a war of Religous Faith, he's saying that it's hard for even Jesus to approve. But I could be wrong, don't bash me.

"Chainsaw brutality. Tornado strength" Good metaphors, but that's self explanitory too.

"King of the diamond, king of the grave" Bush is the leader of 'a diamond' the most powerful and richest country in the world. But he's also the person that sends people to die, from their stand point.

"lawlessness stains black on whitewashed tombs" Refering to the 'unlawful invasion' that costs many soldiers their lives. The soldiers are represented by the 'white washed tombs'.

'we're too strong to compromise. don't be ashamed of your faith' the former is saying that America is too strong to compromise with the enemy. The latter can be many different things. But in this sense, I think it's telling Muslims not to be ashamed. Though I could be wrong.

"Dear lord deliver me from hypocrisy and surcrease the scarlet desire", Bush is hypocritical, 'scarlet desire' is his quest for blood.

"He wears a slick jacket and a gold watch/his dishonesty has scarred hands" Bush, as well as all presidents, wear fancy suits, and often gold watches. "Dishonesty" is the conspiracy that he lied.

This is pure speculation and opinion, remember. Don't be mad at me if you think I'm wrong.

dude i thinkthat is awesome i really do, i could never understand this song and you have cleared that one up for me thatnks

Has nothing to do with bush man, nothing

I definately dont agree with the political explanation. I think this song is about the struggle christians have with sin or "the war". Thats what the chainsaw brutatily, tornado strenght means...the power of sin. This is just my spin on it..dont call me an idiot.

That's what I got out of it too. Their lyrics are inspiring.

Its obivous that it's about keeping your faith..

"welcome to the war;"-the christian war, the everyday christian walk

" a martyr's challenge."-christians are the martyr; the challenge, again, the daily walk.

"chainsaw brutality tornado strength."-sin and temptations stregth, they are strong an dangerous

"king of the diamond; king of the grave."-as someone has previously said, god is the king, and he gives you life, and he can take it away.

"lawlessness stains black on whitewashed tombs."-the christian the is whitewased tomb

"we're too strong to compromise. don't be ashamed of your faith."-their saying the christian needs to be too strong to compromise, keep your faith, don't compromise to what society want you to be.

"dear Lord- deliver me from hypocrisy and surcease the scarlet desire."-their saying lord, save me from the hypocrisy and the temptations and desires of the world.

"he wears a slick jacket and gold watch. her dishonesty has scarred hands."-saying that satan and his temptations look so good with the slick jacket and gold watch, but its too good to be true. "her" is ment to be understood as the sin and temptation...it's dishonest and not what it seems.

i love how all their songs relate to christianity. True believers in christ. And it's unbelievable how many non-believers dont understand the meanings of thier songs...and continue to listen...one day it'll click, and they will either quit listening...or decide to come to god, our "king of diamonds and king of the grave"

I am godfree, but I have and always will listen to their songs. To not listen to a talented band like TDWP because we don't share the same religion is foolish. They have good messages, just like Christianity itself.

I love what suz 2007x said at the end about how so many non-Christians listen to TDWP but doesn't realize what they're about. And how someday they'll realize and it'll all click, and they'll come to God, or quit listening. It's so true. This band is hardcore amazingly awesome. I just started listening to them very recently, I went out and bought their first CD and can't wait to buy the rest. I had heard of them but never knew they were Christian til i started listening.

But anyways, they kinda remind me of Avenged Sevenfold in a lot of...
