Not Alone Lyrics

No more

No more are the days that I will
Fear for I have found a strength that
None can match and I'll push forward

Never has the blood in my viens
Flowed so fiercely as when i feel this around me
I am whole

I'm not alone
With the touch of your hand
I am whole again

I'm not alone
With the touch of your hand
I am whole again

Now I feel the passion burning
This what drives me further strengthens
My resolve to push me further

(and I believe, that I am not alone)
I'm not alone!

I'm not alone
With the touch of your hand
I am whole again

I'm not alone
With the touch of your hand
I am whole again

No more are the days that I will
Fear for I have found a strength that
None can match and I'll push forward

Now I feel the passion burning
This what drives me further strengthens
My resolve to push me further

I'm not alone (I'm not alone)
With the touch of your hand
I am whole again

I'm not alone (I'm not alone)
With the touch of your hand
I am whole again

(I am whole again)
(I am whole again)

So how about this...instead of people saying it's strictly about this or that, let's just say it's whatever the fuck you think it's about and stop arguing. I agree with name; however, his last sentence bugs me because he says before that it's about both and then he says, "I do think it was written to be about God" which shows how hypocritical he is :). If you think it has multiple meanings, don't turn around and say one of them is more correct than the other. This song means something different to each person just like each person sees something differently than the one next to them. State your opinion on the meaning and then gtfo. Quit trying to bash others ( I know I stated something earlier saying how religious doesn't always influence music but that isn't bashing I am stating a fact). For me: This song is about a lover...now goodnight

Song Meaning

Don't think this song is about a chick. People don't normally find a g/f where they believe she's a strength no one can match. Pretty sure this song is about Jesus our savior.

lol, internet arguments are so pathetic and funny at the same time.

The song can be interpreted in more than one way and it still makes sense. Depending on the situation I'm in, I've taken it both as being about a strong relationship with both a person and God, and both times it applied well. Anyways, I do think it was written to be about God.

Amazing song.

Honestly I think the argument over whether or not this is about a girl or a god is ridiculous. A few people touched on this already, but I believe the genius of this song and similar ones like This Calling and The Air That I Breathe is intentionally left very simple and broad so that it is allowed to take on different meanings.

Regardless of Phil's faith, it's impossible to say definitively what the intended meaning of the song is. I'd like to believe that it was intended to cover an expanse of different meanings, kind of an open-to-interpretation sort of thing. Either way, I'm not particularly religious, so to me this song is about either a relationship or simply the strength of one's friends behind him.

Overall, I think it's the lyrics are brilliantly simple and the song is incredibly well-performed.

My Opinion

the amazing thing about these songs is that they can be interpreted in different ways. some of us don't have religion so you can interpret it as a gf if you want. i know that gfs sometimes make guys feel like they are whole. just sayin....

not being argumentative to the previous comment but its about his faith and no longer being alone because his god is with him. however, these lyrics can be applied to pretty much anyone in a relationship whether it's with a girl/guy or god.

phil posted a picture on facebook that said "American Atheist" and on the comments he said "yeah, i'm not a christian" so you can't just assume that he believes in god

dude, interviews with phil have stated clearly that this song is about a girl he met earlier in life, whom he is now engaged to. All That Remains is NOT christian.

I really like the fact that Phil is Christian. I can relate to him and his lyrics a lot, being Christian myself. God bless this guy.

And tpryce93, go to hell. Why don't you go and paint your walls w/ blood and listen to Cradle Of Filth or Slayer all day? Obviously All That Remains isn't your type of "material."

listen people error136 u freaking hypocrite im christian and i listen 2 atheist and satanic music so back off just becuz someone listens 2 that stuff doesnt make them 1 and slayers lead singer is roman catholic so just shut up

Its up to the listener if you want to involve a god in the meaning... But what gives most meaning and set your emotions in action ??! yes, i personally think of my girlfriend! Not a silly god that have done about nothing for me nor anyone else...

is all that remains christian?

They're not a 'christian band', but phil labonte (lead singer) has faith, so obviously a lot of his lyrics are going to be influenced by it.

Religious affiliation doesn't necessarily have to influence someone. The best religious people are those that don't flaunt it. Don't think his music is going to be religiously oriented strictly on the fact that he is religious. That's ignorance, my friend :)

PWall, wow. You do realize how harsh that sounded, right? secondheartbeat didn't really mean all Christians who aren't in a Christian band are going to put Christian influence into their songs, but that Phil LaBonte so obviously does. But it's okay, because this song can also easily be taken for a song about a girl.
