its about the grass roots movement in russia of communism "the spark" refers to leon trotsky
@Ken Eh, kind-of the song refers to the creation of the Russian Communist (at the time Social-Democratic) party.
The line from 'on the black sea' indicates that the 'the spark' is Lenin, not Trotsky. Trotsky would have just been an idealistic youth at this point, not a party leader.
This is when Trotsky becomes a political activist, not necessarily a leader.
