Sea Green, See Blue Lyrics
"Won't you miss me?" you said
Inside Grand Central Station
And your eyes grew red and wild before the chasin'
I felt your body move through my coat
I felt your footsteps, silent but heavy
You followed me onto the shuttle
Tapped my shoulder one last time, that was all
Hmm...
I miss winter just because I miss when I knew you best
I miss the typewriter in the basement
I miss making your room a mess
i miss not being misused
I miss it all, so I guess I lose
Sea green, see blue
Hmm...
September 2 to April 13th, but who's counting?
Song after song after song after song
Amounting into mountains
He told me you beat her up
Behold the "Super Keith" on the cup
What's up?
Enough's enough
Where's my morning coffee?
I regret every single thing I ever said;
I said those things too softly
Hmm...
There was you, there was me
In the room with the alcoholic guest
You asked if we should sleep on these cardboard sheets
I said: "Yes, okay, let's,"
The sculptor we hardly knew
His limbs were lying askew
Sea green, see blue
Hmm...
You tossed your phone fifity feet in the air
I can't believe you caught it
You said whatever you wanted to
As long as you thought it should be true
You dream, you make movies, you dance
Moved to Montreal to be closer to France
How's that working out?
How's the music?
How's the food?
I know you won't stay there forever
I know you're gonna move again
Hmm...
This is crazy, but I know
I left you to be with your art
You always put me first
And somehow that broke my heart
It's not my place to choose
My first love, and my only muse
Sea green, see blue

I love that part.
No comments? I thought there'd be at least a few after the season final of the second season of How I Met Your Mother. Anyway, awesome song. So mellow.
i LOVE this song. favorite by jaymay. wish there were more interpretations. :( anyway great song;
this song is sort of heartbreaking. it has so much nostalgia. He left her, she talks about all the things she misses. September 2 to April 13, probably how long she has gone on without him, but she says "but who's counting" to make it seem as if she does not care that much. She regrets not saying what she should have when she had the chance. I love the last stanza about how she left him to be with his art, it shows conflicting feelings, the confusion of love and relationships.

I love that so much, how lovely. This song is so quietly heartbreaking.

I saw How I met your mother Season 2 final episode with this song at the end of the last scenes. I think amazing choice, very touching song and like the others already announced before me - heartbreaking....however - I know what she's singing about, but that's how life goes.
i've always been curious about the title.
this whole album reminds me of a boy in my art class who i have had a mutual crush with for a long time, but things never seem to work out. being to scared or with another boy. but i think it reaches a lot of people
She definitely sings about someone she longs for although, i think the "sept 2 -april 13" was the time they went out, it is winter.
"You tossed your phone fifty feet in the air I can't believe you caught it"
Lol. I love that line. Daring. It reminds me of my ex-girlfriend 'cause she loves doing that. xP
Jaymay said in an interview that her brother Dave wrote this song and she stole it and changed the pronouns around. So I don't think it has a lot of personal meaning for her at all. But it doesnt change the fact that it's amazing and she sings it unlike anyone else could.
