I can relate to this song. Its about a person who is torn between boy and girl. He loves the girl but she is in relationship with someone other. -- In my case I was the one and we are together now :)

I adore this song, the lyrics may be simple but it conveys a story that many of us may face. Simply put this song is the story of a man that doesn’t really know what he is looking for. His (possible) girlfriend is stuck in between his indecisiveness. The man had to open his eyes up to this situation, and make up his mind weather nor not to bring on this relationship or end it. There will always be something with an eye on his girl and if he leaves this decision to be made for too long, she is going to end up leaving him.

This song totally relates to me :(

Its like her new bf is singing it to me. had to skip it for a while until those feelings passed.

Break ups are hard. so many songs have new meaning. Even had a hard time with DMB cuz it was 'our' band. saw 5 of their concerts in a year while together. sad.

I agree with ChaoticLingo on the meaning of the song except for one thing: I think the persona is not the indecisive man but rather another man who is "waiting" for the woman. Note the following lyrics:

"i could be all that she wants"

"believes me shes leaving and i'll be the one, look what you lost"

In light of these lines, it seems as if there is a waiting man who is warning the current boyfriend that he needs to "Talk To Her" wuick before he steps up and takes her.

This song is about me. I was in a relationship for over three years, and the last year of that relationship consisted of me waiting around while he had doubts about me. We broke up, but he still thinks I'm waiting around for him. I'm going to have to send him these lyrics one day.

I agree that this is from the perspective of a guy watching this relationship.

For me this song can mean only one thing. Im still fascinated by what others think it is though.

I feel that its about a friend warning you that they need to look at their relationship with a girl. the girl must be special because there is alot of focus on her.

i feel that this is the friend explaining that you cant be stupid about this relationship. they are stating that she wont stay with someone who treats her this bad.

Now the chorus is the friend shaking you and making sure you hear them. they are telling you that its been too long since you've shown her affection. they are telling you to show her how much you love her or just end it and move on instead of wasting her time.

Now they are being more calm and saying she's not the one doing wrong its you. dont reject her cos there will always be someone waiting to steal her away from you.

the friend realises its not getting through to you and tries using scare tactics. they say if you dont do something they might make a move.

now the friend is saying you caused her so much pain but you'll be the one who will lose out the most. they will take her from you if you dont shape up and treat her right.

the friend is almost furious at this point and growling out that no matter what you say she is leaving and they will be the one who she'll leave you for. then maybe you'll see how great you had it with her.
