Bottom of the World Lyrics

Is it true? You used to be my friend.
What did I do? Why didn't I get into your cool crew?
You got a modern loft and a new tattoo of your own name.
Got a single room overlooking the highway under microwave.

For you
Heartbroken and
I've been for you

Is it true? You and the other girls
You all stood in a circle.
Sophie left me in a bar at the bottom of the world.

All followers put the word out around the room.
I'm on my way out, always remember you to stay on the move.

It's true
Heartbroken and
I've been for you

It's true-

StephRox, i couldn't agree with you more. I think this song represents how people can change (friends) just to fit into a certain group of people and do things that you would have never imagined them to do, like stab you in the back or leave you in a bar at the bottom of the world. Maybe to be accepted by others, or trying to be cool? haha i dunno

"and a microwave" ... ? as opposed to under, which doesn't make sense...

this song drips of despair. it fits perfectly with a friendship falling apart.

I think she is singing about losing her best friend for no purpose. And missing that person even though they were a terrible person.

Who is sophie? Is it a guy named sophie? Why would she be referencing a woman when she's talking about all the other females he's hanging out with?

It makes more sense to me as "So he..." Instead of "Sophie..."
