I think this is the only good song on Evening Out With Your Girlfriend, both lyrically and musically.
I also think Patrick is a much better lyric writer than Pete. Pete's songs are just metaphor one liners all put together to make a song. Patrick's lyrics flow.

@onexthousandxtearsx Haha, sorry for a reply 20 years later. If you do see this, I might be very off, but I'm gonna say it means his pillow has been mistaken by another..? Maybe as in kissing his pillow. Or crying on it. Maybe the crying part makes more sense.

I think he says "I believe I've been mistaken".
Also where it says "I'm pleading with a cork in my head", I think it sounds more like "I'm pleading with a bottle of Coke in my hair."
