I love the style of this song. although i really want to know whats going on with matty! its like he has a totally diferent mind now. aside from that I love this song
Don't call him matty, that's just stupid. His name is matthew, or MT, because that one's just fun, but not matty, it just sounds gay and creepy. And this song is amazing, there is nothing wrong with him, he just wants someone to love him, and that's basically what this song is about
This might just be my favorite song of all time. Matthew takes something so common [unrequited love] and thinks of it in a new way. He's amazing. Just...wow.

The song is basically about a guy who fakes his own suicide to get the girl he like's attention/affection. After the girl realizes he's dead, she decides she loves him. That's when the guy comes back to life. It's pretty simple. There are like 1471781 interviews with him out there that explain what it means.
haha you guys make me laugh.. but all opinions are real good, but in simplest terms, this song is about a guy loving this girl but she does not love him back. She knows of these feelings for her but is too scared to love him. The guy knows simply that if she were to realize what she truly had through this relationship with him, and he were to die, she would finally know what she was missing. Unfortunaly girls suck at knowing what they have until its gone. And guys want exactly what they cannot have, ironic huh?
