Girl Next Door Lyrics
small town home coming queen shes the star in this scene
theres no way to deny shes lovely
perfect skin perfect hair
perfumed hearts everywhere
tell myself that inside shes ugly
maybe im just jealous i cant help but hate her
secretly i wonder if my boyfriend wants to date her
she is the prom queen
im in the marching band
shes is a cheerleader
im sittin in the stands
she gets the top bunk
im sleepin on the floor
shes miss america
and im just the girl next door
senior class president
she must be heaven sent
she was never the last one standing
a backseat debutant
everything that you want
never too harsh or too demanding
maybe ill admit im a little bitter
everybody loves her but i just wanna hit her
she is the prom queen
im in the marching band
shes is a cheerleader
im sittin in the stands
she gets the top bunk
im sleepin on the floor
shes miss america
and im just the girl next door
i dont know why im feelin sorry for myself
spend all my time wishin that i was someone else
she is the prom queen
im in the marching band
shes is a cheerleader
im sittin in the stands
she gets the top bunk
im sleepin on the floor
shes miss america
and im just the girl next door
theres no way to deny shes lovely
perfect skin perfect hair
perfumed hearts everywhere

This song is obviously a cover of the Saving Jane song that I was startled to hear today. Julie Roberts does a decent version, but it doesn't even come to the vocals of Saving Jane frontwoman Marti Dobson. It's basically a song that most people in general can relate to about feeling overshadowed by someone else.
