Everyday Combat Lyrics
bar fight
week night
you don't look right
poor mite
no bite
wake up
first light
this is what we live and what we see
dance club
strip light
get drunk
no sight
watch it ignite
live it up tonight
nobody really cares but it's not for me
bridge
so raise your glass my son
we're telling everyone
refrain
living in everyday combat
day to day
commuter riot
shot down
dancing in the dmz
walk on
streets on fire
caged in
with razor wire
shot down
living in the dmz
times up
lets go
all that we know
release tension
you're my hero
after dark, terror in the town high street
i know
you can't
stop full, throttle
get involved mate
broken bottle
invasion, panic on the cold concrete
bridge
refrain
refrain
don't think you're safe, cos it's not over
week night
you don't look right
poor mite
no bite
wake up
first light
this is what we live and what we see
dance club
strip light
get drunk
no sight
watch it ignite
live it up tonight
nobody really cares but it's not for me

I was curious so....
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=DMZ
De-Militarized Zone. Sounds fairly fitting in a sarcastic sort of way. At least how Ian is using it in the song.
i sware he sounds like hes saying dancing in the dmv haa but i think its about just going out having fun and partiing and saying thats its like combat...eh wat do i know its 5 am and im tired haha
any 1 know wat dmz (or dmv watever!) is?
I think it stands for 'Dead Mans Zone' or so i was told, meh, who knows?

Demilitarized Zone
It is DMZ (in the booklet) and what I think he's talking about is just the bar hopping scene in general. He says "nobody really cares, but it's not for me". So he's saying that this isn't what he likes to do, because this is how it is. But no one really cares because there are lots of people who WILL go out at night. He's just one person against the crowd.
Yeah that does sound about right. If you ever experience the nightlife over here it is alike to a DMZ. Crazy way to spend your nights, and it's fair risky too. I think this is just highlighting how things get too far out of hand way to quickly, one dirty look at a drunk person and you get a revenge plotted against you: "Don't think you're safe cause it's not over"
u guys are all wrong its all about north korea and south korea the border between them is the DMZ which stands for demiliterized zone. it is how the korean war started. look at the lyrics
refrain living in everyday combat day to day commuter riot shot down dancing in the dmz walk on streets on fire caged in with razor wire shot down living in the dmz
that section is talking about being incaged and getting shot down. its all about korea
Does anyone else hear what sounds like a chav right at the end of this track? I can defiantly hear something like "And I was like boosh innit" at around 5:00. Cool song though.
aha.. yea, I hear what you mean.. I have absolutely no idea what they're saying though.
The band is called "Lostprophets". Get it right, not "Lost Prophets".
can totally feel this song! its all about the bar culture and as the lostprophets (the majority of them...) dont drink - i feel totally sorry for them!
he's basically saying that unless you are a streotype chav or a "sheep" that you dont fit in the this culture. "you don't look right"
its an awful lot like i predict a riot by the kaiser chiefs - this awful image of booze britain...... how alcohol can cause fights and how drunk people have no thought or common sense in their actions. "get drunk no sight watch it ignite live it up tonight"
I love the "dancing in the DMZ" this is how i spend my weekends - drunk dancing like i dont care whilst people around me throw bottles at each other and so on.....LOL
i do love this song and i think ian has a valid point, but that wont stop me drinking and living like this every weekend........
