Q&A
Barbarian Lyrics
He left the northern hills to seek his fortune
A lone barbarian with only death lust to guide
He carved a kingdom of stone
King Conan, sitting on his bloody throne
His black mane sweeps across his face
Grim and silent with a steely blue gaze
Like a panther ready to strike
His blade crashes down to end your life
Conan rules with an iron fist
Many people, they look up to him
Battle prowess is the measure of a man
You think you're civilized, but you will never understand
Master swordsman of Hyborian Age
His name is legend to this very day
Even gods cower when his sword is unleashed
Nothing dare face him, neither man or beast
Cut a bloody swathe across this battlefield
Red mist rising, break your human shield
Slashed to pieces is to be your fate
Unleash berserker rage, none shall escape
Conan rules with an iron fist
Many people, they look up to him
Battle prowess is the measure of a man
You think you're civilized, but you'll never understand
You think you're civilized, but you will never understand
You think you're civilized, but you will never understand
You think you're civilized, but you will never understand
You think you're civilized, but you will never understand
You think you're civilized, but you will never understand
You think you're civilized, but you will never understand
You think you're civilized, but you will never understand
You'll never understand

the part that you are missing is
"battle prowess is the measure of a man"
i am certain of this
Yeah Im hearing the same line.
Yeah Im hearing the same line.
It's Electric Wizard showing respect to '30s-era science fiction character, Conan the Barbarian. I love this song, and it's my favorite on Dopethrone, right beside "Electric Frost".
Jus's hopeless shriek after "Unleash berserker rage; none shall Escape!", yeah- that's the best moment on the whole fuckin' CD.
Fucking awesome song! Love the riff at the last part... Wish someone could figure out what he said at the third line of the last verse though... I'm thinking, if this song is anything but a tribute to conan, could it be about society and how Electric Wizard percieves it as flawed?
"Conan rules with an iron fist Many people, they look up to him" could be about the government, and how they're in control of everything. And while normal people like this, Electric Wizard would rather have it some other way "You think you're civilized, but you will never understand"
Fits with the whole "Legalize drugs & Murder" theme throghout their music. But then again, this song is probably just written purely for its entertainment value, telling the story of Conan the barbarian.
Think the line is "Vile powers, in the measure of a man"
Fucking love the beginning sound clip for some reason. "The Wizard.." just fits in perfectly. This whole song is just epic.
I think the missing line is "Vile prowess is the measure of a man"
"You think you're civilized, but you will never understand" I guess he's saying we're the true barbarians.
I think the missing line is "Vile prowess is the NATURE of a man" goes along with the notion that we're all barbarians deep down.
I have been listening to this album for nearly 17 years, i love this band so much, my fav band of all time, the missing line has already been added to the comments.
