I'm the next act
Waiting in the wings
I'm an animal
Trapped in your hot car
I am all the days
That you choose to ignore

You are all I need
You're all I need
I'm in the middle of your picture
Lying in the reeds

I am a moth
Who just wants to share your light
I'm just an insect
Trying to get out of the night
I only stick with you
Because there are no others

You are all I need
You're all I need
I'm in the middle of your picture
Lying in the reeds

It's all wrong
It's all wrong
It's all wrong
It's all right
It's all right
It's all right
It's all wrong
It's all right
It's all wrong
It's all right

In my opinion this song is two sided like everything in life. This song is like a big gray area.
In the beginning he's saying that he is in the background waiting and then he's saying right afterward that he's like an animal trapped in your hot car. He's like an animal dependent one some one else to make sure he doesn't die in the back of a hot car cause he doesn't have sweat glands. So it's clear that he's dependent of this person and waits on them. If you allow your self to be dependent you will always need someone to depend on. This person is all he needs but does he want more that to rely on someone who doesn't want them? Then he says and repeats throughout the song "I am in the middle of your picture Lying in the reeds" Reeds are symbolic of protection, purpose, or even communication. All of which are required in a relationship. You want to feel protected with the person you're relying on to not hurt you emotionally not just physically and you need to feel a purpose when you're in a relationship. And of course communication is a given when it comes to relationships.

"I am a moth who just wants to share your light I'm just an insect trying to get out of the night I only stick with you because there are no others"

The song could be about a happy relationship but why such a low soft and slow tone and an almost moaning/crying sound when he sings It's alright? If you realized the one person you need is the one person keeping you from being happy do you leave them? For what or who? The are no others. If you don't share your life with them you'll be left alone outside of the light. Is this a love song? Most definitely but do all love songs have to be about being happy. Being in love can be as equally miserable as it can be pleasurable. If it is about someone speaking out about an unhappy relationship they couldn't leave it would make all the more beautiful and inspirational.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
