No More Fighting Cats, OK? Lyrics
Every excuse that we make for men makes it that much harder to take pride in them.
he does it every night & the women find a way to make it all seem all alright.
You get that shit out of yr arms & you get well right now, you scrub that smell all off yr body, have dinner with the family, start picking me up on time, you stop taking my car when i tell you that it's mine for the night.

i have yet to hear a des ark song i dislike. i'd go so far as to say, they're the best north carolina band i've ever heard, and living in north carolina for eighteen years, i know me some good local music. has anyone seen them live? i haven't seen them since early 2004, but every time i've seen them has been amazing. they were always in the middle of the room with fans all around and aimee was always completely fuckings nuts/brilliant. some of the best performances i've ever seen. loveeee me some des ark.
i saw them last week. and they were AMAZING. they played in a classroom @ Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Me and my friend were listening to this album a couple nights ago. I literally had to turn it off because of how much it reminded me of my childhood. This song in particular reminded me of my dad's drug addiction and how my mom must have felt: fucking horrible. Granted, I was high as shit and that didn't help. I can listen to it fine sober, but jesus christ I almost cried.
This is missing the lines "You think that I don't know that my lover's got a sickness that I can't fuck him out of? He looks so alone, I need some friends right now, I need a break. I will ruin everything, I will take them on (?)"
This, along with the second verse haunted me greatly. I can't think this song is about anything else other than a marriage getting fucked up by the husband's drug addiction.
That verse is actually the beginning of the following track, "Queen of the Sketch Patrol," from LLSS: http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/3530822107858680404/

Good point. Almost every song on the album blends right into one another.
