Welcome Lyrics
we had to leave like you we were cast far and wide,
we didn't have a choice,
there was nothing to decideÂ
without food in our bellies,
without a pick on our bones,
without a scrap on our backs
we had to leave our homes...
So welcome home,
even though you're far from yours
Welcome home,
welcome to these shores..
You don't have to change your culture or your ways,
your language or your heart,
you're welcome as you are...
Don't listen to their words,
we won't leave you down
They're traitors to our dead,
to our history abroad,
We sailed on coffin ships
to many foreign shores
We were welcome to their lands
and now the turn is ours...
So welcome home,
even though you're far from yours
Welcome home,
welcome to these shores..
You don't have to change your culture or your ways,
your language or your heart,
you're welcome as you are...
we didn't have a choice,
there was nothing to decideÂ
without food in our bellies,
without a pick on our bones,
without a scrap on our backs
we had to leave our homes...
even though you're far from yours
Welcome home,
welcome to these shores..
You don't have to change your culture or your ways,
your language or your heart,
you're welcome as you are...
we won't leave you down
They're traitors to our dead,
to our history abroad,
We sailed on coffin ships
to many foreign shores
We were welcome to their lands
and now the turn is ours...
even though you're far from yours
Welcome home,
welcome to these shores..
You don't have to change your culture or your ways,
your language or your heart,
you're welcome as you are...

this song is so beautiful, so stirring... I spend 3 days in Dublin and people there were so welcoming, specially when I said I was French, it touched me deeply (i don't know if French people deserve it)
