I love it how she breathes booze in the mornin'
And it's so sexy how she can't remember last night
I made the fatal mistake of letting her drink again
But who the hell am I to tell her how to live her life?

And if you could put dumb in a shotgla**
I'm just another lush who's had one too many in me
And we please don't have enough
I see you stand there, settle for anything, anything's better than lettin' her,
Think she can do better than me
She'll come around eventually

'Cause baby girl's a queen
But the queen's just a pawn with a bunch of fancy moves
And she's made me a fiend
I'm goin' through withdrawals but I got nothin' to lose

Oh no, (hey!)
She's at the bottom of that bottle (hey! hey!)
She's only one more swallow (hey!)
From being oh so hollow (hey!)
(Hey! Hey! Hey!)
Bravo (hey!)
She's at the bottom of that bottle (hey! hey!)
She's only one more swallow (hey!)
From being oh so hollow (hey hey hey!)

I find it funny she can never find her car keys
Immediately after telling me she can't take it
She makes the cutest faces when she screams obscenities
And slurs her words because she's never not inebriated
And the front-page headline ready
Let the girl go, you know you can do better
It's bad, when the fact that you can't have her
Is the reason you sweat her,
Don't let her take advantage of you
Like the other dudes let her
You better cut your losses now, buddy

'Cause baby girl's a queen
But the queen's just a pawn with a bunch of fancy moves
And she's made me a fiend
I'm goin' through withdrawals but I got nothin' to lose

Oh no, (hey!)
She's at the bottom of that bottle (hey! hey!)
She's only one more swallow (hey!)
From being oh so hollow (hey!)
(Hey! Hey! Hey!)
Bravo (hey!)
She's at the bottom of that bottle (hey! hey!)
She's only one more swallow (hey!)
From being oh so hollow (hey!)
(Hey hey hey!)

Drown yourself,
It's not worth keeping me
Just put it down right now,
And bow out gracefully
Drown yourself,
('Cause baby girl's a queen)
It's not worth keeping me
(The queen's just a pawn with a bunch of fancy moves)
Just put it down right now,
(And she's made me a fiend)
And bow out gracefully
(I'm goin' through withdrawals but I got nothin' to lose)

Oh no, (hey!)
She's at the bottom of that bottle (hey! hey!)
She's only one more swallow (hey!)
From being oh so hollow (hey!)
(Hey! Hey! Hey!)
Bravo (hey!)
She's at the bottom of that bottle (hey! hey!)
She's only one more swallow (hey!)
From being oh so hollow (hey!)
(Hey hey hey!)

I love gym class heroes they give rap a whole new feel. This song is about a girl who is an alcoholic.

I believe it's "Cuz baby girls a Queen. And a queen is just a pawn with a bunch of fancy moves."

i agree with 360dregrees. Plus i think its "I'm just another lush who's had one too many in me" instead of "Someone never like us she's had one too many" and then "...lettin' her Think she could do better than me" I think there are some other parts but it's just too hard to make it out clearly. but that's what I know for now.

    "When bow-wow gracefully"

i think the phrase goes "then bow out gracefully"

    and "she's never not inebrieated"

i don't think that "dumb" is the right word for "dumb in a shotglass" but i can't make out exactly what it is...but if it is dumb, i don't get it.

They got the words wrong, it's definately "The Queen is just a pawn with a bunch of fancy moves" I know this for a fact, I was at Warped tour and Disashi was teaching that part of the song to on of the guys thats touring with them

Word Alive, The
This song is def a twin to "Unfair" (a song she has been quoted as saying is about falling in love with someone who is already in a relationship) so it is presumably about the same person. Given the references to buying an apartment and not being able to see her love interest "after tonight," it's most likely that she's moving away and she'll "wait a day to break the bad news" (i.e. notifying him that she's leaving once she's already gone). And, of course, the fact that she sees in him a fellow "idealist" and "dreamer" (terms commonly given to people with the INFP personality on the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)) portends that she'll always be left wondering if they would've been perfect together.

Ministry
Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
