I couldn't understand the last two lines. Sorryyyy, if someone can get them I would be glad to fix it. At any rate, the first time I heard this song was in Neu Wave Hookers, a porn by VCA. I work at a porn store and I try to check out all the more interesting looking ones, and Neu Wave Hookers is definitely not your average porn. "In Anticipation Of Your Suicide" comes in during the first sex scene. Getting on to the meaning - it's obviously about suicide. I don't think the person has actually killed themselves yet, but Adam can see it's coming. Anticipating someone's suicide seems cruel, but the lyrics make it sound as if he was just finished living ("but you say you've laughed enough"). Trying to go on further is the real cruelty. The almost upbeat sound emphasizes the fact that it's not a tragedy, it was what he wanted and it's done, so get over it ("but you know by summertime your suicide's just last year's news"). He doesn't want people to feel sorry for him, and he wants everyone to know that he was just finished ("clues you know you want all to know your little soul grew old too soon and surprises lost their thrill"). That's my take on it.

I heard this song in the movie named "All the boys love Mandy Lane", and it is really a great song!
I just heard this song for the first time last week in the movie "All the boys love Mandy Lane". It is one of those songs that I knew right away that I really liked. I had to stop the movie, which was at the very beginning, just to find out the name and who sang it. I felt that meaning of the song was more about someone committing suicide and thinking that their actions would be much more impactful that what they really are. Leaving behind signs and clues that what they were dealing with in their lives was major and life changing while in actuality it was just overblown and shallow. Great song.
