The Perfect Gift Lyrics

Suppose you wash your hands of
The dirt you run them through all day
The mess you made
Could it all make sense sometime
When you crawl over to show blame
It's all my fault
And your right
that I don't know

Believe what is told to you
So gullible in every way
You stupid fool
And your songs will be breaking all hearts again
And your songs will be breaking all hearts again
Spare me yeah,
And your songs will be breaking all hearts again
Spare me yeah

Suppose you wash your hands of
The dirt you run them through all day

Believe what is told to you
So gullible every way
You stupid fool
And your songs will be breaking all hearts again
Spare me yeah
And your songs will be breaking all hearts again
And your songs will be breaking all hearts again,
Spare me yeah
Spare me yeah

I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, (X6)

Another good song from Hundred Reasons.

I think this song is just bout people in general. When something goes wrong we often blame other people. It's just our nature - we always feel like we have to be right. Why don't we for once admit that we are wrong thus getting rid of the 'dirt' on our hands. In my opinion, we often believe what we here from gossip or through the media and are quick to put other people's opinions and beliefs down. Why can't we for once admit them? Why do we have to pretend we know everything?

The chorus about songs breaking hearts I think is true. When we have strong feelings sometimes, people find that they express their emotion through songs/poetry. And when we write songs with raw emotion it might hurt some people. It could also mean that we are too quick to accept things and get the wrong end of the stick. Why can't we just all be different? It would be, in some respects, the perfect gift because then we would all get on.

That is my take on the song. It is probably nothing to do with what it actually means. What do you all think?
