Running Away

Aah... I'm the first one to post. This isn't my favorite song, but I do have a semi-clear idea on what it's about. It's about someone cheating on someone, and the person they're cheating on finds out.

"Only you and me"... It's never 'you and me', gotta learn that the hard way. Great song, very meaningful, cheating is low, and realizing that doesn't make it right.

My guess is that theres a couple. The man sees the woman cheating and thinks its his fault she is. "That i have crossed the line." The woman realizes hes learned, and wants to make it up "Have you found out this time." She manages to fool him and make hjim think it was just a mistake. "I lead you to believe its only you and me". The man finds out again and this time turns away and ditches her, moving on. "cause your running away you keep turning your back on me". The man and women used to go to a bar or something perhaps once a week, so the mans goes there to raise his spirits. "I'm drinking by myself, i know im going down." BOOM! theres my damn translation.

I think it's about trying to hide all your flaws from someone, and that everyting between them was totally between then (not nessacerially cheating, but could be braking someones confidence, letting them down etc) andthinking you've hidi t with everyone else and then realising they saw right through you all along, and then wishing they were still there ("will you pick me up? Will you leave me on the ground")

There's probably a person cheating in a relationship. The person who cheated is trying to be forgiven, but the person who was cheated on is trying to forget about the cheater and erase him or her from their life.

I like the song untill the chorus comes in. It just doesnt sound right for the song. It kinda kills it.

im listening to this song right now for the first time and i love it. i agree with the people that say this song could be about cheating thats what it seems like

i think its about cheating on someone, even though you really do love them.

the lines like "I can learn from my mistakes don't throw everything away" and "please don't turn your back on me" show that he really does feel guilty about cheating.

I really agree w// Tineke on this. I really don't think it's about cheating at all. I see it more as you really love a person && your trying to seem perfect, right to them. You want them to see you in a loving way, so you try && cover up your flaws && mistakes. But they know you too well, && they see right through your flaws && mistakes. I might add more to this later, giving I have more time to think on it.
