You're Ever So Inviting Lyrics

The time has come for you
to sit this out
To fit inside your mold
would be to sell myself short

This ground we tread upon
is now filling up to our necks
We turn the pages left to right
We see everything

Oh, my story's growing, it is
on my last request
Don't make me feel so contradicting
There's no room for cheating and being yourself
Failure leaves such a bitter taste in their mouth

And on the last hour
we write so many new chapters again
And on the outside
where there are no surprises

Oh, it's getting longer
to see it through their eyes
would bring me so much closer
You can do this night after night
Failure leaves such a bitter taste in my mouth

Taste and see, I swear I know what's good
Be still and know that they won't lie to you every single time you're facing lies
I know why you never take your eyes off me
I've used my lungs for everything but breathing

I find myself dried up in this conversation
So pull me out, pull me aside

uh, but they did change? their lyrics are entirely better. their scream is so much heavier/deeper, resembling the likes of throwdown and norma jean, and their music isn't as contrite and repetitive as before. they have definitely matured. maybe now that their music isn't so prepubescent-friendly there won't be those annoying girls getting in the way at every show.

ya im sure all of u guys kno that underoath is a christian band and this song is most likely about the book of life that god wrote for us...

"Oh, my story's growing, it is on my last request Don't make me feel so contradicting" is probably a plea to God asking him to not make his life 'so contradicting' (duh)

"And on the last hour we write so many new chapters again" maybe on the last hour of your life so many different things occur in 'the book of life'

just a guess?

I'm not gonna share my thoughts on what this song means, but I will point out two allusions:

"Taste and see, I swear I know what's good"

  • Psalm 34:8, "Taste and see that the Lord is good..." (It doesn't literally mean taste, but is to emphasise that in trusting God we discover how good He is)

"Be still and know that they won't lie to you every single time you're facing lies"

  • Psalm 46:10, "Be still, and know that I am God..."

nice catch :D

These lyrics aren't actually totally correct. Oh well. Just read the booklet that comes with the CD, haha.

Have you ever noticed that UnderOath likes to repeat the phrase last request (A Boy Brushed...). I'm not quiet sure what this song means, it kind of sounds like he's breaking up with someone, it reminds me of A Boy Brushed tho... (not musically).

It's about a struggle of some sort, I think.

I can't wait to get this cd! I'm really glad that they didn't change their music now that they're getting more popular..it stayed as fantastic as it always has been!

These are not the right lyrics for the song. Leaked stuff sucks. It's the first time I have heard the actual version of it, and counting, heres what i can make from it.

Is there no moderator that can delete the leaked stuff????
