Times goes by at such a pace
It's funny how it's easy to forget her face
You hide the cracks, the facts will find you
Turn your back and leave the lonely days behind you now

You better it put it behind you now
You better it put it behind you now
Too much to hold on, hold on to
You better it put it behind you now

All the things you took for granted
Hit you like a bullet in the gut
You can't get up
Well are you gonna even try?
'Cos if you never even try
Time will pass you by

You better it put it behind you now
You better it put it behind you now
Too much to hold on, hold on to (Hold on, hold on to)
You better it put it behind you now
You better it put it behind you now
Too much to hold on, to hold on to (Hold on, hold on to)
You better do what's best for you

Don't care what she said and (Better put it behind you now, better put it behind you now)
Only in your head (Hold on, hold on to)
Time will help you out (Better put it behind you now, you better put it behind you now)
Still you don't see her (Hold on, hold on to)

You better it put it behind you now
You better it put it behind you now
Too much to hold on, to hold on to
You better do what's best for you

General CommentDo not read the song, just read the title.
Forget about it all, you do not have to remember the past, put it behind you. I can too put it behind. All will be well.

General CommentI really have high hopes for this scoring highly in the charts as Is It Any Wonder did!
sooooooooo catchy, then again i wanted Can't Stop Now to be a single!
Quite simply it is about a person who has lost the one they love, they still obvisously crave them, but they have to get on with their lives, and Put it Behind them!

General Commentalso the little bit before the last rousing burst of the chorus the lines go

    Don't care what she said
    Only in your head
    Time will help you out
    Still you don't see how!

General CommentSomewhere I read that this was written by a band member for another member who had lost his girlfriend and just couldn't get over it. The song encourages me to put it all behind myself too...

General CommentYeah I heard the whole album includes songs written for one of Keane about his situation with his girlfriend. Don't know which, just can't recall.

General CommentLOVE THIS SONG. My interpretation is that this guy's singing either for himself or a friend, and he wants to get over a girl. Very good song.

General CommentNormally I wouldn't know, but it was on the Keane DVD that Tim Rice-Oxely wrote it for Richard Hughes' nasty break up of 7 years... (key-boardist wrote it for the drummer)

General CommentThis song puts a positive spin on getting over a messy break up. It’s basically saying, “yeah, that whole situation sucked. But now, you got to move on.” Which in life, is necessary to do.
