Exo-Politics Lyrics
Open the skies over me
I am waiting patiently
I'll wait for a sign
As conspiracies unwind
Will you slam shut or free your mind?
Or stay hypnotized
When the Zetas fill the skies
Will our leaders tell us why
Fully loaded satellites
Will conquer nothing but our minds
I'm waiting patiently
And I'll wait for the sign
Carried through the centuries
Secrets locked up
Are loaded on my back
And it weighs me down
When the Zetas fill the skies
It's just our leaders in disguise
Fully loaded satellites
Will conquer nothing but our minds
I'm waiting patiently
And I'll wait for the sign
I'm waiting patiently
And I'll wait for the sign
I am waiting patiently
I'll wait for a sign
As conspiracies unwind
Will you slam shut or free your mind?
Or stay hypnotized
Will our leaders tell us why
Fully loaded satellites
Will conquer nothing but our minds
And I'll wait for the sign
Secrets locked up
Are loaded on my back
And it weighs me down
It's just our leaders in disguise
Fully loaded satellites
Will conquer nothing but our minds
And I'll wait for the sign
I'm waiting patiently
And I'll wait for the sign

This song is about an alien race, controlling all our leaders to keep us in controll. Will our leaders tell us why? Propaganda en censure used to controll us. this is a real conspiracy theory, which would explain the sentence as conspiracys unwind exo-politcs means our politics are controlled from space. zetas refers to the alien spacecraft, i gueass. Just a view i heard from a friend
This song is SO amazing
Muse are obveusly onto the "N.W.O" New World Order and if your a big muse fan, you should have a pretty good idea of what it is about, its everywhere but check it out by all means, it could happen some time soon.

exo-politics is another meaning for martiens and other extra terrestrial intelligence.

MY opinoon on what this song is about is us, as a world being "invaded" or spied on by these beings: "When the Zetas fill the skies"

...
Well, i think this is double barrelled meaning: aliens being in the satellites using their equipment to obduct us and/or control our minds from up where they are. OR politics as we know them (world leaders) using satellites to control ourselves and tapping in on phones listening to us- it has been known!
i believe that this song is disguising his beliefs over the 9/11 attacks .. matt has already stated he thinks it was n inside job and the lyrics do corollate to 9/11

This is a song about when aliens come to earth. Someone said the Zetas are a folk-lore alien race, but you are wrong. They are in fact a race of aliens... not folk lore though. Muse is asking if the government will say anything to us when it happens because our government has "exo-politics" with the zetas. They know what will eventually happen. Muse is singing "im waiting patiently". These are smart people singing. They know exactly what their talking about. As do I, and I am also waiting patiently for the Zetas to fill our skies and will most definitely take over our minds. There are telepathic. :)
Zetas are alien race - Reptilians. From Zeta Reticuli star system.
And for the "Fully loaded satellites, will conquer nothing but our minds" - it's refereeing to Project Blue Beam - in which the USA government trough satellites will create holograms of alien invasion so that later they can form the New World Order.
I think it might be "When the Zetas fill the skies" - Zetas being a UFO folk-lore race of aliens supposedly come to Earth to provide guidance/spiritual enhancement/genetic enhancement.
It's also "Will our leaders tell us why"
The other lyric I think might be wrong is "fully loaded satellites" not 'solenoids' (which doesn't really make sense). Not so sure about this one.
This would fit with the title of the song - 'exo' meaning outside (Greek, I believe). So exo-politics would be politics from the outside, or on the outside.
I have two ideas of what this song is about.
One is that it's about the leaders of society using people's faith/belief in aliens and other paranormal phenomena when in fact they are simply being manipulated by the same leaders who they look to for guidance. Hence 'exo-politics' is the political system that exits outside our normal understanding of the system - but really the phenomena we see is just "our leaders in disguise".
The other is that we (manking) are off on some intergalactic journey as beings of pure energy ("taking nothing but our minds") where we will be "carried through the centuries" to some other place.
Whatever it's about, it seems that the protagonist is waiting for the secrets of the event to be revealed - either the political conspiracy to be revealed, or the great migration to occur, or something else - "I'm waiting patiently/and I'll wait for the sign."
This is a typical controversial song by muse. I think it is about how the government uses propoganda to lead us astray and they generate all our beliefs and ideals. It is "zetas", these are the greek letter for the number 6
It's a political album, and this is a political song- but I always got the vibe that Muse doesn't address particular administrations, but rather critiques the human political system as a whole. The world over, governments tend to share fundamental flaws- corruption, the power to manipulate, etcetera. This is what I feel Muse is attacking and bringing to attention- not US politics or UK politics specifically. I always get a much more profound feeling from their works, as opposed to Green Day's American Idiot, which is a great political album, but works on a smaller scale.
This song is aobut government conspiracy. The way the government uses the peoples fears, and wants to manipulate them. Like in 9-11. Google terror storm. It was on a t-shirt matt bellamy was wearing at one of his concerts.
cy.preston is half right. The inspiration for this song did come from exopolitics.com.
But even though Matt Bellamy has some strange ideas, he just thought these ideas were ridiculous. He doesnt atually believe the US goverment is getting technology from aliens in exchange for letting them abduct people....he was rolling on the floor and spilled some water when he was mentioning that theory.
When he was explaining the origin of the lyrics he was laughing the whole time. But he did note that he believes in some conspiracies and that goverments do work in the shadows to manipulate things...also a theme in the song.
What the hell is a Zeta?
I love this song.
