i wrote some lyrics to this song... i'll have to record it one of these days. i don't know if they do elliott justice, but i've dealt with a lot of the stuff that he apparantly did as well. figured i'd share with you guys... why not
a few shots, two thirds a bottle of whiskey whatever it takes to pretend that you'll kiss me again been deluding myself thinking somebody else is gonna come rescue me
i don't know anyone like you; i never will but you only kept me crying; i never could tell you how much that i loved you and always will you'll never know what it's like to say to myself "i'll see you in heaven"
i'll see you again somewhere else, where you're like everyone else and i'm still stuck in my skin
hanging out in my own little bunker trying to get just a little bit drunker tonight taking in more and more till i feel the floor come and rescue me
quiet night, sleeping just to dream but know all too soon i'll be back there again stuck alone in their land, but they don't know where i am so they can't come rescue me
i would love to hear your lyrics recorded in with this instrumental. :)

I would as well.
I would as well.
the best elliot smith song. i dont know why, it simply is. the title says it all, it's such a happy and hopeful tune.
absolutely GORGEOUS. i wonder when it was recorded, if elliott recorded it right before the time of his death or something. but regardless of when he made it, it will stay with me forever. the song has no words, but i don't think i've ever heard a song with more passion put into it. it's incredible that a person can do that with just music. but then, elliott was an incredible man.
your lyrics are really pretty; i like them. :]
i don't know why, but this is one of my favorite songs of Elliotts, too. which is weird, because i usuallly don't like instrumentals.
where do you find this song
The title says it all. I don't know when it was recorded but I'd like to think it was one of the songs his family and friends sorted out when they decided wich songs who later would end up on "From a basement..", like if the song said too much, even though its intrumental
Terrify ! optimistic like you all said, and so powerfull !
It just makes me smile
I could easily cry.
I love this song. I usually hate instrumentals.
this song gives me goosebumps. it's too beautiful.
