Weekend Without Make-Up Lyrics
another weekend without makeup
another evening to myself
well, i guess that i won't be having the time of my life tonight
where do you go when you've finished work?
you should have been home an hour ago
i've got your tea laid out like some kind of fifties housewife
well i'll feed you, but i need you to make a little more effort
i don't like giving you the third degree
i just want what's due to me...
there are wants and there are needs
and they're two very different things
you can love or be in love, again,
they're two very different things,
yes they're two very different things
i want to talk but you're much too tired
you've got a job but if you don't get fired soon
i'll be extremely surprised
where do you go when you've finished work
you should have been back about an hour ago
you've left me fashioning a double bed and acting
like some kind of fifties housewife
you and i, we're different
you and i, we're two very different things
but still i've got you, i've got you under my skin...

This, to me, seems like it's about a woman who's being cheated on by her significant other. "Another weekend without makeup" I think refers to how since there's no reason to get all done up, because she isn't going anywhere or seeing anyone important. When she asks, "Where do you go when you finish work?" she's accusing the other person, and "I don't like giving you the third degree" makes me think that she feels bad about suspecting, but has to know anyway.

They've missed a bit. 'I could be more than your landlady if you like, but you don't like...and neither do I' I always thought this was about someone living with their mum and feeling bored and restricted.
omg i love this song. i heard it on Rage one morning at about 5am and fell in love with it.
the meanings pretty easy - shes being cheated on by her significant.
significant other.**
Now that I think about it, the cheating thing works much better.
I think it's she wants to go out with him, but his life just dsen't suit to a proper relationship.Or maybe their relationship is so formal that she feels that she's just his landlady. The second theory suits the rest of the song
Love this song. But it's a bit like being nagged at.....to music.
