I Just Wanna See Lyrics
A planet on the go
It's ok watching the weeds grow
And if you listen really hard
The earth she hums when it's dark
Sleeping on the sidewalk the home they call
Doctors and lawyers race for the ball
And I don't even want to understand it all
I just wanna see
All the little kids gettin' down to the rhythm
The boys all shined up chasing down the women
A paper boy smiling at the job that he's given
The bugs in the grass and the birds all swimming
Mister moon checking on how y'all living
The stars all winking at the day that's dimming
I just wanna see
The aquaducts overflown
Watching the branches and dolls go home
And if you listen really well
The earth she speaks when she's pale
Sleeping on the ceiling the flies don't fall
Dust bunnies found their way to a wall
And I don't even want to understand it all
I just wanna see
All the little kids gettin' down to the rhythm
The boys all shined up chasin' down the women
A paper boy smilin' at the job that he's given
The bugs in the grass and the birds all swimmin'
Mister moon checkin' on how y'all livin'
The stars all winkin' at the day that's dimmin'
I just wanna see

I absolutely love this song! I agree with the above posters. It is about slowing down from the frenzy that is day to day life and noticing the beauty of the world.
I think it's about slowing down, and watching to world, and relaxing. Stopping to smell the roses is perhaps another way to put it. Life is too damn fast paced; especially now with digital everything "on demand" bullshit. Nobody realizes there is a world around them anymore; they are too busy working hard for that next promotion, or whatever else they want, and really, that shit is meaningless. You can get tons of promotions, get that flash car, that huge house you spend so much money on making pretty, and a tree in the woods still has it beat.
I completely agree with you on that. I think it is about stopping and kind of just reminding yourself that this is a WORLD that we are living in, not some crazed media-run business that it appears to be on the outside. We all need to kind of just mellow out once in a while and enjoy that natural beauty of what really surrounds us, rather than getting into the whole craziness of being successful in a corrupt society. I think this is a song that every band needs to listen to for inspiration, actually. Too often bands sit down...

Too often bands sit down and "force" some lyrics onto a page that they think will be successful, when in reality, they should let it all be natural and flowing.
