Low Happening Lyrics

God only knows what you do with yourself
You sleep all the day and you're wasting away
You beg for your food
And you lie like a dog
You steal all your moves and you drink the last drop

You watch me
I watch you
You changed me
Like I knew
You used me
Like I used you
My love shot right through you

It's a low, low, low, low happening*4

And every night at the beat of the drum
You'd kill to be right, but I know you're wrong
You drink from the heart
And you pour from the soul
You listen to trash
But it's not Rock'n'Roll

You watch me
I watch you
You changed me
Like I knew
You used me
Like I used you
My love shot right through you

It's a low, low, low, low happening*4
Alright

And every night at the beat of the drum
You'd kill to be right
But I know you're wrong
You drink from the ehart
But you pour from the soul
You listen to trash
But it's not Rock'n'Roll

You watch me
I watch you
You changed me
Like I knew
You used me
Like I used you
My love shot right through you
It's a low, low, low, low happening*4

I don't really know exactly, but my guess is that it's about being in a relationship with someone in which they're always trying to change you, and they never do anything for you, which in turn, turns you into them. i dunno, i'm probably rambling.

This is the story of me and a boy I know, well it is for me anyway.

I got the impression that this was about someone she (or whoever's perspective the lyrics may have been written from) was in a relationship with.

To me, this sounded like someone who lazed around all day, and left somebody else to do all the work [for example, housework/cooking]. As well as this, it sounded like they drank excessive amounts of alcohol, and claimed that they were always right.

The "it's a low happening" sounded as though she's saying that it's insignificant - it doesn't effect her.

I'm not too sure though

hah, this reminds me of my most recent ex. He would just basically tell me to organise everything like meeting him, going on dates etc. While he just did nothing and sat around all day. And it did change me =/ Since I dumped him I've been addicted to this song. Knowing the feeling I would say that has a huge part in what the song's about. x

i think it's about a relationship just kind of bottoming out...she realizes all the faults in him.

From listening to an interview by them it sounds like a story about how they moved to England from Australia and how they had to wait to record there album. "It's a low happening" to me basically is a stab at the record label for making them wait; and how they had to get other jobs to support themselves.
