Heaven Is In Your Mind Lyrics

You ride on the swing in and out of the bars
Capturing moments of life in a jar
Playing with children, acting as stars
Guiding your visions to heaven and heaven is in your mind
Take extra care not to lose what up feel
The apple you're eating is simple and real
Water the flowers that grow at you heel
guiding your visions to heaven and heaven is in your mind

The lyrics to this song floored me when I'd first heard them. I was about 14 and spent a lot of time listening to music while I got stuck cleaning house and simply because I was only child who was ALWAYS on restriction.

Anyway, my first love was the Beatles. At that point in time, I'd been in love with them since I was 8 when. As I said, I was 14... I was going to an all-girls Catholic highschool on Guam, the Academy of Our Lady of Guam and was subject to the Catholic religion daily. Luckily, the required 'Religion' class that year was 'Theology.' I liked Theology. The class was taught in way that asked you to question your faith. I loved it.

Anyway, these lyrics appealed to me as a child coming into her own as an adult... 20 years later, they remind me to remember why it's so important to keep some aspect of yourself enjoy life simply. As a child does.

It's what keeps your happy. It's why children who grow up in fostering, nurturing environments seem to always be happy.

Happiness, heaven, is a state of mind that we're all striving to reach. Do things in your life that make you happy and you'll find your way to heaven... maybe a little bit of 'heaven on earth.'

Reminds me to pursue happiness in everything I do.

The lyrics to this song floored me when I'd first heard them. I was about 14 and spent a lot of time listening to music while I got stuck cleaning house. I was an only child who was ALWAYS on restriction so basically, I had a lot of time to listen to music growing up.

Anyway, my first love was the Beatles. At that point in time, I'd been in love with them since I was 8. Nothing else in those 6 years struck me as the Beatles had until I really heard Traffic and Steve Winwood's voice.

I loved it. I guess I was spending a lot of those days really trying to think of what God and heaven meant to me.

Anyway, these lyrics appealed to me as a young girl coming into her own as an adult... 20 years later, they remind me to remember why it's so important to keep some aspect of yourself enjoying life simply... as a child does.

It's what keeps you happy. It's why children who grow up in fostering, nurturing environments seem to always be happy... because they're free to not worry and can just enjoy the beauty of what's around them.

Happiness, or a heavenly state, is a place or a 'state of mind' that I think we're all striving to reach. Remember to do things in your life that make you happy and you'll find your way closer to heaven...

and maybe if you're lucky, you might even find yourself a little bit of 'heaven on earth.'
