Also, this song really means a lot to me, because it sort of helped me admit something to myself. There's a guy who's one of my best friends, and I started liking him, but every time someone else would use the word "love" to describe how I felt I'd just deny it. But hearing this song during that time, I really identified with the lyrics... and I realized the more someone says they "can't" love someone else, the more it means that they do love them.

This song is sung with such strong vocals and its lyrics really touch deep.

Explanation: He's falling in love with her a little more everytime he talks to her, or looks at her, or thinks about her. She's becoming a big part of his life, and he's not sure if he's okay with this. He "can't love her."

He kind of always knew there was attraction, but he doesn't want to fall in love with her for whatever reason. And at the end he just sort of accepts he's falling [fast] and there is nothing he can do about it.

I think it's about getting asked the age old question, do you love me? And he initially doesn't believe he is in love and as time goes on he begins to really fall for her. No matter what it really means this is such a powerful and beautiful song, done by an amazing band, which I agree is not getting as much exposure as they deserve.

Lovely song. I pretty much agree with your-my-starr's interpetation. It reminds me of someone very special to me. The conversations we used to have were amazing. Everytime we talked, I'd fall in love with him more and more. Sighs.

Anyway. I love Between The Trees. They're kind of underrated and they need WAY more recognition because they have talent. Real talent.

I was just at their show and there is a story. The singer wrote it to a girl who he liked but she thought he was in love with her but really he wasnt. Heliked being with her. Not putting down what could be, but hes not in love with her.
