I'm in You Lyrics
I don't care where I go
When I'm with you
When I cry you don't laugh
Cause you know me
I'm in you, you're in me
I I'm in you, you're in me
Cause you gave me the love, love that I never had
Yes, she gave me the love, love that I never had
You and i don't pretend we make love
I can't feel anymore than I'm singing
Repeat I
You gave me the love, love that I never had
Come so far where you think of last fall
You can die but remain you and I
Repeat I
I don't care where I go
When I'm with you
When I'm with you
When I cry you don't laugh
Cause you know me
I I'm in you, you're in me
Cause you gave me the love, love that I never had
Yes, she gave me the love, love that I never had
I can't feel anymore than I'm singing
You can die but remain you and I
When I'm with you

It's about a girl who has haven a guy love like he never experienced!
Beautiful - long live simple love songs!
Or is it?
He seems to go back and forth in time - "I'm ,IN you" would seem to be about a Current r/s but
"she GAVE me the love", and "You con die but remain you and I"
seem to indicate that his loved one has died, but the love lives on for him. Interesting that the song finishes with "I don't care where I go..." His tears go on, she can't mock from the grave...
An equally valid interpretation -
He lives and thrives in her honesty and acceptance. ("when I cry you don't laugh" & "you & I don't pretend - we make love") This is contrasted to a previous love who also gave him the love he never had. This love is real, 'cause she KNOWS him, in every sense...
Hadn't heard this one in a long time and caught it today on Sirius. He does appear to time shift, but I think he is talking about the great love of that one person who meant everything to him.
This was parodied by Frank Zappa in his song "I Have Been in You":

Slightly more risque than Frampton's version!!
