A beautiful work from Off the Ground. The song could be a sequel to "Maybe I'm Amazed". Years later, Paul realizes how life sometimes gets in the way of appreciating the one he loves. So, he asks they both to open their hearts to fully experience the love that binds them together. Sailing on a winedark open sea works as a metaphor for life...they are going through life together as the mystery of their lives and the future unfolds. The beauty of the song is marked with sadness because on a few years away Linda would be taken away. But most people could only dream of finding the love the two of them shared.
