I've never heard this song, but they lyrics are incredible. I can see several different interpretations of this song, but the one I choose to believe is that this girl has taken the narrator from his horrible environment. [John did, after all, have a difficult youth]. She is saving him by destroying his past. And it is exciting for him. He doesn't panic. "There are too many colors surrounding me." She's opened up this whole new world for him.
