The album art also features a picture of a factory in Calcutta, I wonder what the tie in is.
It says on the Mountain Goats wikipedia (not their wikipedia page, but there is a fan page devoted to the Mountain Goats that's set up like wikipedia) that JD said that this is a song about 2 people in love and it's all going to hell in a handbasket.
You can tell they're in love, but I don't know where the lyrics suggest that it's going to hell.
