Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen cover) Lyrics

I've been here before
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
but love is not a victory march
it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah

hallelujah...

there was a time when you let me know
what's really going on below
but now you never show that to me, do you?
but remember when I moved in you
and the holy dove was moving, too
and every breath we drew was hallelujah

hallelujah...

first to comment woot.. this is a great great great cover of jeff buckley's amazing song. esp. how it was played on the oc season 3 finale.. did anyone else notice how season 1's final song was hallelujah by jeff buckley, then season 2 was hide and seek by imogen heap, and now they combine them both to get season 3

This song is so powerful, I just keep listening to it over and over. There's something about her voice that just captivates me. The final scene in The OC accompanying this song was amazing, the music, the flashbacks, and eventually Marrisa's death.

This cover is great, especially suited to The OC; a combination of both Season 1 and Season 2 finales. Her tone, the emotion; amazing.

I'm listening to it right now on Immi's MySpace, and it's almost making me cry. It's so powerful, how she starts to echo on the multiple Hallelujahs.

This is my first time adding a comment to a song and I'm honored to have it be this one. When I watched the very sad scene play out before me on The O.C. I couldn't believe the song. It fit so well with the emotion and what was going on and I was so glad and happy on how they used it. Although I hate the fact that Marissa Cooper or "Coop" may be dead I did like the song they chose to play out her death. Well done Imogen Heap on another great song! I wish I could find a place to download it to a CD or something or if anyone knows if it will be on one of her CD's. If anyone knows something please tell me. I love Imogen Heap and I'm so glad that they are a regular for The O.C.
