Kingdom Of Thieves Lyrics
From the day they washed ashore
The first brick in the foundation
In the kingdom of thieves
Befriend and destroy
Built upon stolen land
Painted with innocent blood
Give thanks and betray them
Shove them into dark corners
Feed them the leftovers of dogs
Dig up their graves and laugh
Pick your teeth with their bones
The fruit of the holy voyage is sour and cursed
Forced by our heroes
To walk a trail of tears
Forced by our forefathers
To watch their wives and children die
In this great, honorable, holy American land
In the kindom of thieves
The great American land
The first brick in the foundation
In the kingdom of thieves
Befriend and destroy
Built upon stolen land
Painted with innocent blood
Give thanks and betray them
Shove them into dark corners
Feed them the leftovers of dogs
Dig up their graves and laugh
Pick your teeth with their bones
The fruit of the holy voyage is sour and cursed
Forced by our heroes
To walk a trail of tears
Forced by our forefathers
To watch their wives and children die
In this great, honorable, holy American land
In the kindom of thieves
The great American land

Is Dan a Native American? This song seems to me that it's about how the first Americans stole land from the natives and all. The whole "trail of tears" thing really points to that.
I dont believe he is, but you are correct it is about the europeans coming to the new land, it is about manifest destiny the europeans thought that they were entitled to the land by god so they horded and killed many of the native americans destroying familys bringing disease and guns (The fruit of the holy voyage is sour and cursed)it was a disgusting and horrible part of history the worst part is that many people think it was the right thing to do the religous conservatives say things like "it was gods will that these people died because they would not have converted and god wanted a place for his followers" and this is dans reply to that
I have a history degree and am going to be a teacher, and it wasn't as simple as "steal, kill, destroy" for many people. I hate what the greedy English and Conquistadors did. Plus, I'm an independent with conservative leanings and I'm disgusted by the what was done in so many cases to the indigenous population. And that's not the way most conservatives think. They are not monsters.

Even if Dan was a native American, he still could say what a pile of shit the system and the people are.
it gave me a new perspective of the land i live on...i like that
Actually, Dan is Irish, just fyi.
i think he's just using this as an example of the selfish and terrible things people do in God's name.
thee, I agree. But not necessarily in God's name, but more so in "God's" name. They use it as a reason and start to believe that what they are doing is right. I like what Inpeace is suggesting too. 2009 new Zao album. I am stoked (:
