Sticks, Stones, and Techno Lyrics
You spin your words like a record in motion
Step into the party, step out a commotion
With stars in your eyes
And with fire at your fingertips
Burn down this city and everyone in it
Saying, "Oh, we are the dancers"
Show me the skyline
And I'll show you decadence
A subtle reminder of hearts filled with loneliness
Give me your worst words
And I'll bring the sticks and stones
I'd hate to use them
You can't shake it with broken bones
Oh, we are the dancers
Don't complain if you can't win
It's just something we live for
And we do it well, as you'll see
By the way that we rock and we roll
Over state lines and dollar signs
Oh, you dance like it's your job (x2)
Step into the party, step out a commotion
With stars in your eyes
And with fire at your fingertips
Burn down this city and everyone in it
Saying, "Oh, we are the dancers"
And I'll show you decadence
A subtle reminder of hearts filled with loneliness
Give me your worst words
And I'll bring the sticks and stones
I'd hate to use them
You can't shake it with broken bones
Oh, we are the dancers
It's just something we live for
And we do it well, as you'll see
By the way that we rock and we roll
Over state lines and dollar signs
Oh, you dance like it's your job (x2)

I'm supprised to be the first person to comment on this song. I think its funny how they originally made this song as a joke and yet in my oppinion its probably the catchyest song they've done. Although i hope they don't go over board and star making too many like this I thought it was intersting non the less.
Show me the skyline and I'll show you decadence, a subtle reminder of hearts filled with loneliness,
I LOVE IT. even if its a joke.
oooo thanks for clearing that up
this song is pretty awesome but it doesn't have to atl vibe as the rest of the songs. rian said its was just for fun and they won't make many like these, maybe for a bside or something if they ever have time.
i like this song as a singular song being different from the rest, but i hope they don't revamp their style. i doubt X 45374 they will.
this song is great. i know it was a joke, but it's really fun to listen to! love it!
haha this song is soo radical. i love the way it sounds.

Even if this is song was actually a joke, this is such a depthful and amazing verse lyrically. I don't even like the song much, love ATL, but the words get to me so much I find myself listening to it all the time.
Show me the skyline and I'll show you decadence, a subtle reminder of our hearts filled with loneliness... like breakdown and the beautiful but decadent nature of what we create. It's beautiful, but empty.
Give me your worst words and I'll bring the sticks and stones, I'd hate to use them. You can't shake it with broken bones... I love this. It's such a perfect play on words. Like the irony of supposedly "not caring" about words, but bringing sticks and stones because you're at the end of your rope. 'I'd hate to use them' being again ironic and somewhat sarcastic.
Love that verse again all together.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but Alex writes all the lyrics. they're always really good! i loved the lyrics for Jaesey Rae and Coffee Shop Soundtrack.

Even when they write a joke, they put their heart and souls into the lyrics, don't they? That's why I adore ATL.

i love this. even if it is a joke, it shows their versatility. i agree with heckyeahitsanna, it seems sarcastic and ironic to me.
