Nobody Loves Me Lyrics

Well I can always tell a liar
And I always know a thief
Well I know I'm like my family
Cause brother I'm the chief

Well I'm a dangerous crusader
Cause I need to tell the truth
So I'm turning over tables
Within my own living room

And I might nail inditements up on every door in town
Cause it's not right or safe to let your conscience down

So I don't care if nobody loves me
Nobody loves me
Nobody loves me
But You

Cause the truth is never sexy
So it's not an easy sell
Well you can dress her like the culture
But she'll shock 'em just as well

And she don't need an apology for being who she is
And she don't need your help making enemies

So I don't care if nobody loves me
If nobody loves me
If nobody loves me
But You

Nobody loves me (x3)
But You.

So I'll do whatever it takes
To squeeze us into this wedding gown
Well I'll say words that rattle your nerves
Words like sin and faith alone

Nobody loves me (x3)
But You.
(x2)

I think this song is an example of indoctrination. When I was in the church youth group I would listen to this song. It is very catchy which makes the words "nobody loves you" sound like a good thing. This song reminds me of how the church will preach that we are sinners and don't deserve love, but oh grace. This song preaches that nobody loves you in a happy fashion. Indoctrination is present across the board in worship music.
