The City Limit Lyrics
Don’t drop me off just yet
It’s too safe
And we’ve only just met
I’ll rephrase
Please just drive
The city limit’s fine
And then I’ll make my way
But I could always stay
Lead the way
Just drive
The city limit’s fine
We’re inside
Don’t drop me off just yet
Spend some time
Cause we’ve only just met
We’re way behind
Please just drive
The city limit’s fine
We’re inside
Just drive
The city limit’s fine
We’re inside
It’s too safe
And we’ve only just met
I’ll rephrase
Please just drive
The city limit’s fine
But I could always stay
Lead the way
Just drive
The city limit’s fine
We’re inside
Spend some time
Cause we’ve only just met
We’re way behind
Please just drive
The city limit’s fine
We’re inside
The city limit’s fine
We’re inside

i am so in love with this song. it's so breathtaking. this band is so good at capturing perfectly what they want to say in both lyrics and music. yeah this song's pretty straightforward... you're driving around with someone awesome and you want to do that forever.
or uh something
I agree... especially because of the "we just met" part ... the person may be awesome, especially because he just met them, but the emphasis is on driving. But it would be very different to drive alone, it's only complete with this person there. Talking, but the emphasis is not there. Cruising and knowing that the person in the other seat is thinking probably the exact same stuff as you. It's very comforting to meet a person who you share an experience with and who ends up taking the exact same meaning from it. Usually you meet people, share an experience, and take away different things. But when you take away the same meaning from that experience, it's really wonderful. To be driving through the city at night with this person, talking, but not as much, would be really wonderful.
I love this song. The mood is perfect... it sounds like a late night car ride. And I think its meaning is pretty clear.
