Well pretty much he adores this girl, but she doesn't give him the time of day. "If I told you I love you would it move you enough to even act as though you've heard."
It's a pretty straightforeward song, actually. He's pondering to himself about the most likely outcome if he was to admit his feelings for some girl, who obviously doesn't think very much of him.
Could be interpreted in a different way though.

like Litening said, its about him considering what would happen if he told this girl how he feels, and deciding if its worth it or not.
i think it's pretty simple, unrequited love.., or prehaps the guy is just so scared to even ask the girl if she feels the same. i think she goes to lots of parties.., and she likes to get drunk and create a scene, "I know you're easy when you're numb", this makes her seem a little too free or that she leads loads of guys on (a tease).., it's like both are from two different cliques at school and he just doesn't know how to get through to her. i love plain white tees :) awesome song xx
